Tobo’s application of communication in coaching is valuable, especially if you are a trainee life coach.
Thanks Natalie
I enjoyed every session we had together and I wish you only the best as you venture into your new life as a mother and amazing Life Coach.
I’ve been thinking of how best to put how I feel in writing. Finally, I think I know exactly how I feel about this coaching experience that I have had with my Coach Tobo. I call it total transformation…I have without a doubt done 360 degrees! Before I started off with Tobo, I guess I knew what I wanted to do and that was to assist other people become more of themselves, but I didn’t really know that there was a profession that helped people to become… I didn’t even know what it was called. Only after starting my studies with New Insights and having Tobo as my VIP Coach did I get to understand that it is called Life Coaching! Having VIP Coaches as part of the training programme is one of the most brilliant initiatives by New Insights. I would recommend that all trainees should have a VIP Coach.
Tobo is the true definition of a Life Coach. I look forward to being like her one day. She is so experienced and understands what she does. She is so passionate about her work and very inspiring. I looked forward to all our sessions. So many times, she had to go out of her way to help me understand what it means to be a life Coach. She helped me see the importance of understanding myself first by working towards balancing my life wheel. I learnt how to set SMARTEST goals and each time I read my goals I become more and more re-energized. Over the years I would set my yearly resolutions but 75% of the resolutions would not be attained and for obvious reasons… they were not SMARTEST! However, after my Coach took me through the process, it all made sense and I also came to understand why so many successful people talk about having achieved their goals and I guess the secret is in how the goals are set.
Through my coaching sessions I also learnt about deconstructing limiting beliefs and construct empowering beliefs. I have my Power Questions stuck on my bathroom wall and they remind me every day about the power of positive thinking!
Just want to take the opportunity to thank Tobo for her commitment to helping me on my journey of becoming a Life Coach. As I do my practice coaching, I usually hear her voice in my head, and I try to express the same compassion, patience and love to my practice clients that she did with me. I now get to experience the same joy when I see my clients thrive. I’m now finishing up my modules and getting ready for the exam.
Life Coaching works! Thanks so much Tobo!
Thanks Betty
Coaching you was so exciting. I am already missing the vibrant sessions we had. I’m waiting with a chilled bottle of champagne to toast when you get your certificate.
Wishing you only the best
I have always been looking forward to getting coach that will fulfil my objectives the way i wanted to achieve them but it has always been a bit of the opposite of the expectation. These opposite expectations I always got made me continue looking for coaching because something kept saying ” no you have not yet got the coaching that you needed but I did not know what kind of coaching I needed because I have never had that kind of coaching. I continued searching for coaching training schools until I found New Insight life coaching and I went through their package and it looked like that was what I was looking for.
I then started checking how I can get the training from this and I was referred to Tobo Thabede who is from the team of certified coaches from New Insight life coach training herself. I started the training journey to become a trainee life coach.
Although I already had some goals which I set for myself meeting with Tobo clarified my path to reaching my goals. I then quickly realised that I should have set my goals high enough to not achieve them without stretching. It was during that period when I started understanding the issue of life wheel and the SMARTEST goals. I started seeing myself and my team really starting to chase the goals that I set. Although we have not yet achieved the goals buy we are approaching them because the time we set for achieving the goals was the 31st December 2022 and set this goal to be in the present future tense. We measure our milestones every month and present them to the entire team so that they all understand where we are in terms of achieving goals and milestones are alike.
There are so many minor goals that we also achieved along side our major goals. I am so excited having worked with Tobo during my life coach training and I am now up for the practice client stage and getting ready for the exam/.
Thanks Obee
I’m humbled and honoured to have been your VIP Coach. Thanks so much for the great opportunity to positively contribute to your personal and business growth.
I wish you only the best.
Well I always had a drive to do my best to excel in everything I put my mind to, with regards to academics or life in general. I wanted to become an accountant in grade 10 or 11, I enjoyed accounting as a subject and my teacher was the best. She was very hard on us, it was her passion that inspired me to study towards being an accountant.
In 2012 I started attending life coaching sessions with Sis Tobo, she is my aunt but I never felt as if my aunt was giving me life lessons as she was very professional. She would always put on the cap of being a life coach during our sessions, her professionalism and leadership skills never allowed her to make the mistake of being my aunt when she was indeed doing what she does best (coaching). I say ”what she does best” because it is a gift, as it is God given. Yes, we are all blessed with gifts; it is only for us to draw nearer to our maker for us to discover them and work effectively in them.
Twenty twelve was the year of which I was completing my matric. This was a challenging year, as I was so confused about what I actually wanted to further my studies in. I thought I wanted to be an accountant as I had previously mentioned, but I started to develop a passion towards medicine in my final year of schooling. I mentioned the desire of being a surgeon to my coach (Tobo); a coach is a person or expert who instructs or trains an individual who is learning or improving a skill. Sis Tobo was that to me, an expert guiding me in the right direction. I started my coaching sessions sometime during 2012, the aim was for guidance out of my confused state.
My coach introduced me to goal setting, she taught me to set goals that are Specific and Measurable, goals with Evidence, to take Responsibility of achieving them, to set a Time frame of achieving my goals, to obtain Inspration and to Enjoy my success at the end (SMERTIE). Sis Tobo taught me how to see myself as a victor and one who has vision; she also guided me on how to become what I had set out to be. During our sessions I first learnt to have a vision, then to be able to see that vision through; by setting goals and milestones that would assist me towards reaching my goals. Sis Tobo never enquired from me what I did not want, she would state that I should set goals towards what I want.
Having a list of things you do not like or want leads you straight to them, as you don’t know what you want. You need a vision in life, with a vision comes success and prosperity. you will have joy, happiness and above all peace beacuse you are doing what you initially desired. I say seek ye first the kingdom of God and your plans and path will be clear (Matt 6:33). I am saying this becuase I wanted to be a surgeon, but ended up studying pharmacy. In grade 12, I set goals for myself. I aimed for 75% in my subjects, so that I can qualify to study MBchB.
I worked hard, I had a team of actors or rather cheer leaders behind me. I could not disappoint my paraents, Sis Tobo, my family and myself. I truly thank God for my mother (UNhinhi), from the deepest of my heart; she deserves a crown and a standing ovation. In Jeremiah 29:11 “the Lord says that He has thoughts of peace towards us not of evil, to give us a future and a hope.” My mother had and still has such thoughts towards me, for she is God fearing and a daughter of the King (God Himself). My entire family supported me with applying to various universities. My uncle would bring me question papers from news papers, so that I can study well and effectively with the right equipment.
I was excited about university, above all studying medicine. It was my first choice at all the univesities I had chosen to send my application. I remember applying to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) for occuptional therapy and pharmacy, just in case all does not go well with medicine. To cut a long story short, God is faithful and able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine (Ephesian 3:20). I was not admitted to study medicine at any university, but God who is faithful. A God who never fails nor forsakens us was in control of everything; just like He is in control of your life. He led me to further my studies in pharmacy. In university I would apply the SMERTIE rule without even being cognoscente of it, this was because I had the best life coach (Sis Tobo was Heaven sent).
Goal setting became a life style to me and I will continue to apply the SMERTIE rule in my life. I give praises to God for my parents, Sis Tobo and my family. I praise Him for being GOD above all. I am telling you! taking these lessons and actually Talking To Tobo will change your life forever.
Thou I did not end up studying medicine, thou I will not be a surgeon one day; God gave me peace. His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philipians 4:6-7). This peace guarded my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. I was not happy about not being able to reach my ultimate goal of being a surgeon at first, but I started enjoying pharmacy because I was in God’s call for my life. I am looking forward to advancing my studies in the pharmacy profession. I am so passionate about health and community service. This passion is from above (Heaven), beacuse I am a chosen generation, chosen forth to show God’s excellence in everything I do (1 Peter 2:9)
I encourage you to start speaking life over yourself, I would like you to start seeing yourself as God see’s you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image (Psalm 139:14), and you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength (Pilipians 4:13).
Talk to Tobo and start this year on a note of excellence and success.
It is well!

Today I feel like a millionaire because of the coaching sessions. I knew nothing about business coaching nor even had an idea of what it pertains until I read a book by Richard Kiyasoki titled “Cashflow Quadrants”. It said “…if you are tired of being poor and want to be rich, hire a coach.” That is how I found Tobo Thabede on the Internet.
I’ve been in business for more than 10 years but it didn’t succeed. What I experienced is that I got deeper and deeper in debt. In our first session I had to stipulate my vision. My problem was that I wanted many things at the same time. Tobo coached me on how to do business in a SMERTIE way! What interested me was that I had to be very specific on what I wanted. I felt that I could identify this as the main reason why my business was not succeeding.
It doesn’t only end there. My business is Student Accommodation and my unique selling feature is that we offer support to students academically, socially and spiritually. Again Tobo’s Life Coaching services come in coaching my students in time management, study skills and personal development. My Pastor always says we are blessed to be a blessing to others.
I’m looking forward to Tobo empowering rural women through a series of business seminars. Tobo is indeed a true Life Coach. If you want to succeed, Talk To Tobo! Success Is Her Middle Name!
I have always known what I wanted to with my life but my only issue was that I didn’t know how I would get to where I want to be. From the first session I had with Tobo my life started to take shape and from then on the things I had been dreaming of became a reality. I now know how to bridge the gap between goals and objectives, manage my time and plan realistically without limiting myself. Today I juggle university studies and all my entrepreneurial ventures effortlessly due to the amazing coach I received from Tobo.
Last year this time I was distraught. It was through meeting Tobo my life suddenly took to a 360 degree turn into a new direction. I’m an aspirant entrepreneur I may not have a solid footing right now but I’m forever grateful for the life lessons Tobo has instilled within me.
Gone are those days of seeing things as a pessimist, right now I’m always out there seeking for my next thrill as each day comes. Today I can proudly wake up with a smile on my face and a hint of positivity no matter the circumstance.
Tobo has taught me a way of life I never imagined, thanks to her today I’m a winner and I can stand as a proud man and finally say that all my business endeavours are about to come into fruition.
“Celebrate every moment of victory”
Tobo Thabede
Life coaching is more than counselling and therapy (which focus on the past and on things that happened). Life coaching is about making the next decision to change your life process from the past to focus on the future by living out that next decision in the present, it is a mirror that helps you to see yourself as you are.
Using personal growth through self awareness helps me to get desired outcome and provide the support I need to help me. I needed to learn to be accountable to myself. Tobo coached me to live by new chosen beliefs and take action towards my objectives in a systematic way. I had to learn to manage my fears and had to identify the beliefs that blocked me in the past.
Now I think about what i am thinking before speaking or making a decision and act. I ask powerful, open-ended, probing, investigative, clarifying questions that will take me towards solutions rather than back to the problem all the time.
